Prior to a visit to KCCA FC on Matchday 15, SC Villa were the biggest surprise of the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League season due to the fact that they had put on an amazing performance which many including their die hard fans had not expected not until things quickly went south.
SC Villa have lost their previous 3 fixtures against Busoga United, URA FC and KCCA FC respectively in a nasty turn of events. From the previous loss against Busoga United, the Jogoos will have themselves to blame after failing to find the back of the net on several occasions and later falling to a Kiggundu own goal after he failed to clear a loose ball from a cross.
SC Villa come into this tricky encounter with majority of their squad members fit to play. Teenage centre back, Garvin Kizito is still out with no playing license while Yayo Lutimba and Emmanuel Kawooya continue to recover from injuries.
Longtime first round absentee Bashir Mutanda who returned for the Busoga United game might be given a chance to start upfront after a long while.
Will SC Villa finally win a game in the second round of the Uganda Premier League?
The Jogoos Head Coach Edward Kaziba has once again promised a better display against the table leaders but lest we forget after losing away to KCCA, Kaziba highly blamed the artificial turf for his struggles. Coming into this fixture, we hope the team have bettered themselves enough for such a turf.
Vipers SC will try to avoid last season’s shock defeat to the Jogoos at the St. Mary’s Stadium as they capitalise on the Kasasiro Boys’ slips in the title race who are 7 points behind the leaders.
The Venoms will look onto their attacking prowess, Fahad Bayo and Dan Sserunkuma, a powerful duo to overpower the Jogoos. Vipers will be without captain Halid Lwaliwa and Siraje Ssentamu who were victims of injury induced substitutions during their visit to Proline.
Vipers SC lead the UPL table with 42 points while SC Villa sit fifth with 27 points. With match officials for Match Day 18 already picked, William Oloya will be in charge of this fixture, he will be assisted by Hakim Mulindwa and Emmanuel Okudra respectively plus Nasser Muhammed as the fourth official.
