Spotify’s Wrapped 2021 Lists All The Top Most Streamed Songs In Uganda

Music streaming giant Spotify today unveiled Wrapped — its annual round-up of the top artists, albums, songs and playlists of the year as streamed by users on the platform from around the world.

In 2021, we redefined “normal” and got used to living in a world that’s constantly keeping us on our toes. 2021 also marked Spotify’s official entry into the Ugandan market. Which artists and songs kept Ugandans entertained this year? Who were the local artists who Ugandan Spotify users listened to most?

Below is a snapshot of Spotify’s Wrapped lists in Uganda:

• Drake is Uganda’s most-streamed artist, followed by Justin Bieber. Nigerian artists received plenty of love from Uganda, with Burna Boy coming in as the third most-streamed artist, and WizKid the fourth. Rounding up the top five is American rapper Kanye West.

• The most streamed track in Uganda is Ruger’s Bounce, followed by Fireboy DML’s Peru then Understand by Omah Lay is the third most-streamed track in Uganda. Joeboy’s Sip (Alcohol) is fourth, and The Kid LAROI’s STAY (with Justin Bieber) is fifth.

• Uthman is the most streamed local artist in Uganda, followed by Azawi, who is also the most-streamed local female artist in Uganda. $hyli is third, then Eddy Kenzo is fourth. Sheebah closes off the top five and is also the second most-streamed local female artist.
