HBO’s House of the Dragon Gets Fans Overly Excited

Ever since its first episode release, House of the Dragon has already become the talk of the town with many viewers already excited to see what comes next in the upcoming episodes.

The HBO show has also picked up quite a number of positive reviews from sites like Rotten Tomatoes, with some praising it for the story adaptations, good character build-up and the nostalgic experience it offers that reminds them of the previous Game of Thrones.

The drama fantasy, which is directed by Clare Kilner, Geeta Patel and Greg Yaitanes, and written by Ryan Condal and Sara Hess is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” which covers events set 200 years before those of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.

House of the Dragon received a straight-to-series order in October 2019 with casting beginning in July 2020 and principal photography starting in April 2021 in the United Kingdom. The series premiered on August 21, 2022. Its first season will consist of ten episodes.

The show itself has a good set of actors that include Paddy Considine (HBO’s The Third Day and The Outsider), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint (It’s a Sin, Doctor Who), Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel and Rhys Ifans to star.

Additional cast members include Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, and Savannah Steyn.

Of course, it being an HBO series, fans are already expecting the gore, violence and most importantly, some dragon action to top it off as kingdoms and families betray and tear each other apart for the top seat on the throne.

House of the Dragon is already off to a good start

With the next episode airing on 28 August 2o22, fans are beyond excited and can’t wait to see what comes next as the story continues to evolve showing what became of the House Targaryen and the events that led to the Game of Thrones.

The first episode of House of the Dragon has already set the stage for a Targaryen clash which is expected to be as bloody as ever and it also introduced us to a cast of new characters that will hopefully one day become as legendary as those that lived and died.
