KCCA FC young midfielder Steven Sserwadda will move to the US where he will sign with his new club New York Red Bulls after 13 time league champions completed the sale of the youngster.
The Lugogo based side confirmed the news via their website. “We here by confirm that we have finalised an agreement for the transfer of Steven Sserwadda to New York Red Bulls on an undisclosed permanent transfer.” Said a club statement.
New York Red Bulls is an American Professional Soccer Club based in the New York metropolitan area. The Red Bulls compete in Major League Soccer as a member of the Eastern Province
The 18 year old midfielder who joined KCCA Soccer Academy in 2015 has achieved so much with the club including; 1 Cecafa Clubs Cup, 1 Uganda Premier League, 2 Super Cups, a Super 8 cup and CAF (Continental) football.
Sserwadda is currently a player with the U20 and U23 Uganda National Football Teams.
Sserwadda joins former KCCA FC and Uganda Cranes player and captain Ibrahim Sekagya who is an assistant coach at New York Red Bulls

For most fans, they first got a glimpse of the young box to box player during last year’s Africa Nations Cup Under 20 tournament where Uganda performed beyond their expectations finishing as runners up with Sserwadda putting on quite impressive performances before returning to get more game time at his Lugogo based side KCCA FC
Sserwadda had to balance between his football and his academics something that the Kasasiro boys have been insistant with all their young players to finish schools.
Sserwadda is joining the Red Bulls for “an undisclosed fee” on a “two-year deal.” His contract with KCCA FC was set to expire at the end of the year. As expected, he is looking to break into the MLS team or “continue with progression on any other side of the Red Bull Group,” which includes Bragantino, Salzburg, and Leipzig. New York assistant coach and Ugandan national team legend Ibrahim Sekagya had an “integral role” in the recruitment process.
