Even before the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League season ended, many were speculating a massive players exodus from Villa Park. However the administration at SC Villa has handled the exodus in a professional way.
Left back Derrick Ndahiro is poised to officially sign for URA before the end of next month. Skipper Asuman Harisheh Kihogo, strikers Faizah Muwawu and Fahad Bardiro have also not been renewed after the expiry of their contracts.
We understand that second skipper, Emmanuel Alex Wasswa, whose departure from the club was announced on Monday on the club’s social media platforms put in a transfer request at the start of the transfer window and his wish was granted by club in a way which benefited both parties. The player has since signed for rivals KCCA FC.
How about Player contract renewal and new signings at SC Villa?
In this Official SC Villa update, the fate of defender Geofrey Wasswa and midfielder Amir Kakomo is not talked about. The club is likely holding talks with the two to keep them tied at Villa Park.
SC Villa has so far confirmed one arrival, Charles Bbaale, a highly rated left footed forward who has proved himself in Masaza football. The challenge will be reciprocating his non-league form into the Uganda Premier League.
The news about Bbaale’s signing was not warmly welcomed by a section of Villa fans online who say they need top signings from within the league so that they align with the big boys in the league.
We will continue to await and see how SC Villa continues to move in this transfer market in order to challenge for supremacy once again!
