Philip Wokorach Moves to French Championship Side AS Bédarrides

Uganda International 7s and 15s utility back, Philip Wokorach, has today completed his move to AS Bédarrides et Chateauneuf du Pape.

Philip Wokorach moves to Association Sportive de Bédarrides et Chateauneuf du Pape from Bourges XV after a one year. The Ugandan back was to play for Bourges XV for a short spell but has been very impressive during his time with the French side which prompted his acquisition by the Championship side AS Bedarrides.

Wokorach moved to Bourges XV after three weeks of trials, and had since helped the club to promotion to fourth-tier – Fédérale 2 and going unbeaten while at it.

The Ugandan flyer had only moved to France late last year from Kakamega based Kabras RFC where he won the Kenya Cup on top of taking up Kenya by storm.

Seen as one of Uganda’s best products when it comes to the game of rugby, Philip Wokorach’s continuous and steady climb into the elite levels of rugby around the world is definitely something that will bring great happiness to many of his fans back in Uganda.

Philip has always had the determination to see his career at the top level and has worked hard to ensure that he gets to realize this dream.

He is saddened by the move seeing as he was just getting settled in at the club but he also accepts destiny “I feel so sad that as I was settling in well and exited to play some more with them but because of unforeseen circumstances, I was left with no other option and I leave the rest to destiny. I thank them [Bourges XV] for everything.”

Philip says that he is excited by the prospect of playing at the new level as he continues to chase the dream of playing at the highest level “I feel great and exited at the same time, I just can’t wait to take on the new challenge and see what God has in stock for me.”
