Uganda Premier League leaders Vipers will host defending champions Kampala City Council Authority is a do or die fixture for the Kasasiro Boys which could also be the game that could hand Vipers the title.
For coach Mike Mutebi, he knows that failure to pick all 3 points tomorrow at the St. Mary’s Stadium at Kitende will mean that he and his boys will be 8 points behind league leaders with just 8 games to go.
Vipers will go into this game knowing that they have had enough rest seeing as they were knocked out of the Uganda cup while KCCA has kept their hopes alive knowing that it could be the only title that they win this season should they fail to get maximum points tomorrow.
KCCA will be relying on the likes of Mike Mutyaba, and Vipers Old boys Saddam Juma, and Kezironi Kizito and Erisa Ssekisambu when they go up against Vipers tomorrow.
The Venoms will also have former KCCA players to look up to in their charge for victory, Tito Okello who will be raring to go after his hat trick against BUL in their previous match, and January signing Paul Mucureezi.
KCCA FC has had to deal with the absence of key players like John Revita, Mustafa Kiza due to injury and the sale of key players like Timothy Awany at the start of the season and Allan Okello in January has left the team in a big dilemma.
“We go to Vipers SC knowing that we have enough to walk away with victory at the end of the game, noted Mutebi while speaking at the pre-match press conference on Monday.
“They are the ones who sit top at the moment so they have the momentum.
“Our task is to ensure that we win the game on Tuesday and continue putting them under pressure and be ready to pounce at the mistakes they make towards the end of the season.”
Can KCCA FC manage to pick up 3 points tomorrow when they visit League leaders Vipers?
Fred Kajoba joined Vipers after Club owner Lawrence Mulindwa fired all the technical team following what was dubbed uncharacteristic performance against Kajjansi boys who knocked them out of Uganda.
Kajjoba has since managed to win all 3 games that he has managed the 3 times Uganda Premier League champions and will be looking at inflicting more pain on his friend Mike Mutebi.
Fred Kajjoba and his boys know that in order to keep KCCA away from them, they need to win tomorrow before they pay a visit to Sam Simbwa’s URA side that has been ruthless in recent games.
Vipers have some good news, Fred Kajoba will be happy to welcome the trio of Halid Lwaliwa, Karim Watambala and Siraje Ssentamu all back to full training with the rest of the Venoms after shaking off their respective injuries.
For KCCA, failure to close the gap tomorrow could prove catastrophic as they have games against SC Villa, Police who are tricky fixtures.
