Lampard Takes Over at Derby County

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has been appointed as the new manager at Derby FC who finished among the top six in the English Championship.

The former Chelsea midfielder has been attending coaching classes and after being confirmed it was just a matter of time before he took charge of a team.

Lampard who won over 5 accolades while playing for the Blues of London, will walk into this job with bags of experience and success as a player. Many will be hoping that he can translate that same success into his managerial role just like Pep Guardiola, Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti, Diego Simeoni, Kenny Dalgish among others who had illustrious careers as players and as managers.

Lampard will start taking charge at the Pride Park stadium this summer and one of the tasks ahead of the English man will be integrating the young players into the first team.

For Lampard, playing in the Championship is going to be a whole different test all together but many will be hoping that the he can make use of the notes he gathered while playing under the management of one of the best attacking managers, Carlo Ancelotti and one of the best defensive tacticians Jose Mourinho.

Players who have played against him say that he is very tough, strict and demands a lot from himself and those that work with him. This will come in handy when he starts managing the Championship side.

Lampard has been doing punditry with Sky Sports for the past 2 years after leaving the New York team where he retired.

Jamie Carragher a colleague says that it will be in the best interest of the Derby players to respect and work within the confines of Frank Lampard if they want to play for his side.

For now, all that one can do is to watch on as Lampard makes his way into football management.
