KCCA FC is probably one of the biggest clubs in Ugandan football at the moment boasting of having won a trophy at least thrice in last 5 years.
The Capital city club are also one of the most supported clubs at the moment in the country coming behind clubs like SC Villa, Express FC who are the oldest and most followed.
How big Will New KCCA FC Stadium be?
Speaking to the club’s Public Relations Officer Mr. Moses Magero on an Instagram Live broadcast, he said that the club plan on major shake ups but key on their agenda is the construction of a 10,000 seater stadium.
KCCA FC currently are using the Philip Omondi stadium which barely has a sitting capacity of 2000 fans.

In the 2015 strategic plan made by the club, designs were made for the stadium which were given to the City Council for approval and Magero believes that the approval is almost given. He says, the city development committee has to approve before they can go forward.
The stadium is one of the major projects that KCCA are planning as they start their long journey of becoming the best team in the land.
According to Magero, the structural designs have also changed and have been improved. The stadium will be 10,000 or even more but he notes that the construction team is ready as soon as they get approvals.
The team has also been scouting the different venues that they can approach as a home should the constructions begin to modify the Philip Omondi stadium into a state of the art stadium.
He also notes that the club are restructuring and expect an interesting crop of new players to come through the ranks to join the starting team.

Magero also noted that as a club they are looking at how to host night fixtures but he says that there are expenses that they must address before that can become a reality.
Items like security, electricity among many others are very important in case a team is to host a night game because the stadium would require a lot of lighting in order for fans to watch the games but also important for TV.
But that is an aspect that he says that they will discuss and review as a club and see a possibility of hosting night games at the stadium. And with construction works on the new look set to start anytime soon, it might be a while before we see KCCA hosting night games.
