Inspirational Wokorach Powers Uganda Past Uruguay

Philip Wokorach scored a hat-rick  of tries to power Uganda past Uruguay in their first game of the HSBC Rugby Sevens challenger series in Chile.

Uganda needed to get off to a fantastic start if they are to have hopes of qualifying to the core Sevens tournament and at the start, things looked to be falling away when Uganda conceded a try and a conversion.

The team recovered immediately with a try from Vice captain Ian Munyani with Philip Wokorach made a conversion to bring back the Cranes into the game.

Star man Philip Wokorach made a try right after and converted to give Uganda the lead and suddenly the game was in their control.

Cavanna made a second try for Uruguay but they failed to make their conversion to level the score and with Uruguay having yellow cards, the Cranes took advantage of extra man power to take control of the game.

Wokorach scored two tries right after and killed the game with a  conversion putting the game well and safe from the reach of the Uruguayans.

Uganda plays its next game is up against Germany who have been formidable in Europe. Coach Tolbert Onyango said he and the boys will take each game at a time.
