Arsenal in Talks to Sign Coutinho for £70M

Out of favor Philipe Coutinho is now at the center of Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s attention as he looks to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium.

Ever since leaving Liverpool to join Barcelona, Coutinho has not been able to enjoy football as he thought he would in the Catalunya side.

For the 2019/2020 season, the Camp Nou side chose to loan the Brazilian out to German giants Bayern Munich but even then, he has still failed to get himself a starting place and has struggled to get minutes under his belt.

His agent  Kia Joorabchian has come out to state that he is currently looking for options for his agent to get more playing time instead of taking him back to Barcelona.

Bayern Munich were offered the opportunity to sign Coutinho on a permanent deal after the end of the loan spell but the Bavarians find the asking price of of £137M to be too high for his services.

So where next for Philipe Coutinho after Bayern Munich?

Mikel Arteta is said to be an avid admirer of the 27 year old midfielder who has the ability to play behind the strikers and on the left wing.

And with Arsenal captain Pierre Emerik Aubameyang looking highly unlikely to sign a new deal, the Gunners are said to be looking for a new talisman to lead the attacks of the team and Arteta believes with the Premier league experience he has, Coutinho is just about the right fit for his side for the 2020/2021 campaign that is expected to start towards the end of August.
