Over the weekend, Crashing Atlas released the music video for “Kerosene”, a track off their debut album Black Sky Sunrise, already out. Written during the thick of the pandemic, “Kerosene” was initially created by band members Dougie and Nick over Zoom calls and grew into one of the band’s favourite songs to perform live.
“Kerosene was created out of our feelings of having our backs against the wall. It was written during the beginning madness of the pandemic, and it has an element of survival in a world that is willing to do anything to keep you complacent.”-Marina Heath (vocalist)
Crashing Atlas is a dynamic Hard Rock band hailing from the surrounding Washington, D.C., area. Formed in 2017 out of the ashes of other projects, the band was started by veteran musician Dougie Chi-Town. After some lineup changes, we know Crashing Atlas today as Marina Heath [Lead Vocals], Dougie Chi-Town [Guitars, Vocals], Nick Giambruno [Guitars, Vocals], and Paul Grossman [drums].
Early 2020 became more of a blessing than a curse regarding the pandemic for them, as it made them reevaluate what their goals were moving forward. They released their debut album, Black Sky Sunrise, in June 2021. Now, they’re hitting 2022 harder with more shows and getting the record in front of as many eyes and ears as possible.
