Most people who go on vacation tend to think things like, “It would be amazing to live here,” but so few of them ever act on it. Most of the time, this comes down to the realization that living in a place with tourists year-round is probably miserable.
However, not all locations are like that. In fact, there are quite a few vacation spots that are great places to live. In this article, we’ll cover some of the best ones.
Park City, Utah
Even though this isn’t a large town, you might have heard of Park City, Utah. If so, it’s likely because they claim to have the greatest snow on earth. While that might seem ridiculous due to the nearby Great Salt Lake’s geographical location, it’s mostly true.
Their snow is never too wet or too dry, making this the perfect skiing location. If that’s an activity you’d love to do all year long or you love the small-town feel of the area, it might be worth checking out. Just be aware that houses here are pretty pricey.
Fort Collins, Colorado
If you’d like something cheaper that’s still close to the mountains, Fort Collins, Colorado, is a decent place to settle down. It’s right on the edge of the Rocky Mountains, but unlike Denver, it’s nowhere near as crowded. This area is perfect for more outdoorsy people since many forests and national parks are nearby.
Miami, Florida
For those who don’t mind larger cities and love warmer weather, Miami, Florida, might be the perfect place for you. Most of the year, tourism isn’t too bad. It gets the craziest around spring break, but it’s manageable. Plus, there are enough beaches here that some of them won’t be nearly as crowded. When you live there, it’ll be much easier to find them.
Galveston, Texas
Another location that has a lot of beaches and fewer people is Galveston, Texas. This is a big vacation spot for people from Texas and Louisiana, but it’s relatively unknown to others, making it a great place to live. Other than their vast beaches, the historic nature of the city and its family-friendly attractions draw people to this area. Plus, it’s not too far from Houston.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
If you’re looking to live outside of the US, you might want to check out Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This area is gorgeous and has a large population of ex-pats living there, so it won’t feel too far from home. It’s still a good idea to look more into it before committing, like figuring out if you should live in a house or condo in Puerto Vallarta, but we’re sure you would love it there.
