In a move aimed at supporting the cancer fight in Uganda, the Ugandan parliament has made a donation of UGX 31 Million to Kawempe Home Care.
Kawempe Home Care located in Kawempe on the outskirts of Kampala is home to cancer patients who are undergoing cancer treatment and also providing palliative care to both cancer and HIV?AIDs patients.
The Cancer home started a program to provide psychosocial support to children who are currently suffering from cancer and it is on this background that parliament chose to work with the organization.
The Parliament of Uganda has through its Corporate Social Responsibility reached out to children with cancer who cannot afford the costs associated with treatment at the Uganda Cancer Institute.
The Clerk of Parliament Mrs. Jane Lubowa Kibirige provided a cash donation of 31 million shillings to support the psycho-social support services provided by the New Hope Children’s Hostel at Kawempe Home Care.
