Chris Hemsworth - Tessa Thompson - Liam Neeson in New Men In Black - Newslibre

Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson to Star in New Men In Black

Men in Black is getting a spin off and according to recent images, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will be acting as new agents probably replacing the original movie lead, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

Chatter about a possible reboot of Men In Black to succeed the previous trilogy has been echoing around Hollywood for years up until now. The new Men in Black, which is yet to be given a title will focus on a younger generation of the agents.

In the pictures at the shoot in London on 8th July, 2018; 34-year-old Chris Hemsworth was spotted sharp in the trademark white shirt, black tie with the signature dark shades. There are images of Chris and Tessa, who acted alongside Chris in the popular Marvel movie, “Thor Ragnarok” as one of the Valkyrie in their bid to save Asgard (or what was left of it).

Very few details are available on the movie plot, so far what we know is that it will mostly be in London and will shape up to become a global story unlike before when most of the agents’ jurisdiction seemed to be centered around the US.

So far, the cast is reported to include Kumail Nanjiani, Rafe Spall, street-dancing duo Laurent Nicolas Bourgeois and Larry Nicolas Bourgeois (aka Les Twins), Liam Neeson and Emma Thompson. The former actors Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones might not appear in the new spinoff.

Liam Neeson will portray the head of the U.K branch of the alien investigating agency and Emma Thompson might reprise her character, Agent O who is the head of the American branch. At the moment she is the only returning character announced yet.

Casting her might be intentional so as to form a connection that offers some form of continuity between the first movies and the new film.

The script for the spinoff is written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, who wrote Iron Man. It is directed by F. Gary Gray who directed “The Fate of the Furious” instead of the former director Barry Sonnenfield.

The project will be overseen by the former producers of the trilogy, Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald with Steven Spielberg as the Executive Producer, a role he has been serving on all the three prior films.

The first film released in 1997 made about $600 million and the second one in 2002 made almost $500 million, with the exception of the third one in 2012 that got a mixed reception. A spin-off with younger actors more so Chris Hemsworth might perform incredibly well.

The new Men in Black is expected to hit cinemas in the summer of 2019 probably sometime in June.
