Who has Qualified for 2023 BAL Playoffs?

The 2023 BAL season got started with the Sahara Conference and shockwaves were sent across the continent in the final games when defending champions US Monestir were eliminated from the group stages.

The BAL has never been defended by any team as Zamalek of Egypt who were the winners of the first season were unable to defend their title in 2022.

The Playoffs of the continent’s biggest basketball tournament are always played in Kigali Rwanda in the month of May after the Sahara and Nile Conferences have been played. A full week of basketball action in the heart of Rwanda as 8 teams converge to compete for supremacy of African basketball.

One of the conferences has been played already and that is the Sahara Conference where Abidjan Basket Club (ABC), AS Douanes, Stade Malien, Rwanda Energy Group (REG), and US Monastir, Kwara Falcons were members, and only four of the teams qualified for the playoffs.

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) from Rwanda, AS Douanes from Senegal, Stade Malien of Mali, and Abidjan Basket Club of Ivory Coast qualified for the playoffs from the Sahara Conference and now await the teams that will qualify from the Nile Conference.

Which teams will be Playing in the BAL Nile Conference?

The teams that will participate in the Nile Conference include Al Ahly of Egypt, City Oilers of Uganda, Cape Town Tigers from South Africa, CFV Beira from Mozambique, S.L.A.C Basketball from Guinea, and Petro De Luanda from Angola will tussle it out for a playoff spot in Egypt from the 26th of April to the 6th of May.

The top four teams will earn a spot to take part in the prestigious playoffs in Kigali, Rwanda between the 21st to 28th of May, 2023.

Teams are expected to jet into Egypt starting the 24th of April ahead of what promises to be fantastic entertainment for many basketball lovers across the continent.  The first games of the Nile Conference will be played on the 26th of April 2023.
