The Uganda Cranes Sevens team is set to face Germany at the South Africa Challenger Sevens Series in the quarter finals after they managed to win their 3 games.
Uganda beat South Korea 40:00 to come up as the best team in the tournament. Yesterday the Cranes had a perfect day having beaten Jamaica 36:10 having beat Brazil 35:05 in the first game.
Against South Korea, Adrian Kasito and Norbert Okeny managed to score two tries with Alex Aturinda and Desire Ayera both scoring 1 try a piece. Aaron Afoyorwoth converted 4 times and William Nkore converted one to give Uganda the much needed win.
Uganda will now have a go at Germany again later today. The two sides have faced off severally and the Germans hold a better record against the Cranes. Uganda will look to push their opponents for a win and get into the semi finals and potentially win the tournament to give themselves better standing as they head to London.
Fears were that the Cranes would struggle without star player Philip Wokorach but the team has shown no slowing down and have been the better side in the challenger series so far.
Coach Tolbert Onyango and his boys know that a win against Germany is as important as anything would come and they need to keep calm heads.
