The former Al-Ahed SC defender, Denis Iguma becomes KCCA FC’s fifth signing of the summer after completing his medical and now his move to the Kasasiro Boys is almost done.
Iguma will be playing alongside the likes of Ashraf ‘Fadiga’ Mugume, Charles Lwanga and Lorenzo Mazengo at Lugogo stadium.
The deal comes after the Kasasiro Boys (KCCA) agreed to personal terms with Denis Iguma that will see him sign a two-year contract until 2022 at the famous Philip Omondi Stadium.
Mike Mutebi, KCCA FC head coach is so desperate to strengthen his defence and signing Iguma is surely a huge step in the right direction.
But How Does Denis Iguma Fit In Mike Mutebi’s Team?
The Kasasiro Boys are looking for a quick replacement for their centre back John Revita who sustained a long term injury that will sideline him for 9 months.
Definitely, many questions will be raised as to why Mutebi would go for an injury-prone player and someone he didn’t work well with at SC Villa back in 2012.
Interestingly, Denis Iguma was a first-team regular at his former club before that left knee injury disrupted his career back in 2017 but that can’t stop the 26year old from having a second chance to prove his worth for a big club like KCCA.
Mike will certainly expect a huge impact from Denis in terms of stabilising his defence that conceded 21 goals in 31 games last season. A team like KCCA that loves playing from behind and dominating possession, Iguma will help protect the defence from dangerous attacks in case team losses possession.
That obviously makes the Uganda Cranes defender a sensible signing in terms of what KCCA are looking for right now.
