The Miami Heat are into the NBA finals of the 2020 season after beating the Boston Celtics on Sunday, 125-113, to win the Eastern Conference finals in six games.
Sensational Bam Adebayo scored a season high 32 points and 14 Rebounds as he performance on the night helped guide the Miami Heat back to the NBA finals.
New boy in the team Jimmy Butler managed 22 points on the night as he continues to be one of the leaders for the coach Eric Spoelstra’s team.
“This group, more than anything, they just love to compete,” Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said during the trophy celebration.
The Boston Celtics hard put up quite a spirited fight in games 3 and 5 but those were not good enough to see them get back to the finals.
In a game where they had to win or go home, in the 4th Quarter, the Boston Celtics managed to go up to 6 points lead but that was not going to be enough as they could not hold onto their lead and close out the game. Inevitably, the Miami Heat through Bam Adebayo, Butler and Herro managing to make amends, take the lead and hold on for a sensational win.
Tyler Herro scored 19 points, Duncan Robinson and Andre Iguodala each had 15 and Goran Dragic added 13 for the Heat.
For the Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown scored 26 points, Jayson Tatum had 24 and a career-high 11 assists, and Marcus Smart and Kemba Walker each scored 20 points on the night.
The Heat are the only NBA franchise with six finals appearances in the last 15 years. They’re seeking their fourth title. Game 1 of the final series is on Wednesday night.
Miami Heat’s midseason acquisitions of the veterans Jae Crowder and Iguodala, who will now play in his sixth straight finals have also proven to be very vital for Coach Eric’s very young team who will now face off against an LA Lakers side that is full of veteran players and old boy LeBron James who is seeking his 4th ring.
