Lugogo Derby – With 119 games down, the Uganda Premier League has only one fixture to take its usual first round break. In the remaining fixture, defending champions KCCA F.C will tussle it out with reigning Uganda Cup Champions Proline F.C in a game dubbed the Lugogo Derby today at 4pm since both teams for a while have been hosting their home games at the Startimes Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Relegation threatened and bottom of the log Proline F.C are the day’s hosts as per the fixture. Proline will look at enormously improving from their lose at URA F.C and put up some stellar performance against Kasasiro Boys in order to rejuvenate their fight to survive the drop.
Proline F.C will be without the services of James Besiga, Bernard Muwanga and Hassan Matovu who are on loan from KCCA F.C however, their camp has been boosted by the return from injuries of captain Musitafa Mujuzi, Yusuf Mukisa and Bright Anukani.
Proline F.C hopes to regain its glory against KCCA F.C during the Lugogo Derby
As it has been for the most part of this campaign, Proline will look up to the combination of strikers Edrisa “Torres” Lubega and Hamis Diego Kiiza to inspire them past KCCA F.C during the Lugogo Derby.
On the other hand, for 2nd placed Kasasiro boys, this fixture looks like a cakewalk since their opponents are languishing at the bottom of the log. Jackson Nunda, Peter Magambo, Sadam Juma and Sadat Anaku continue to be be on the sidelines due to injuries for KCCA F.C.
The League’s most scoring team will look at the talented Erisa Ssekisambu and teenager, Sam Ssenyonjo to put on a great show during the Lugogo Derby.
The Kasasiro boys are aiming at cementing their second position and also tilt further up the UPL table by reducing the gap between them and Vipers who are currently seven points above them with 36 points.
