Manchester United threw everything at Jude Bellingham, including a tour of the training ground with Sir Alex Ferguson as a guide but Jadon Sancho’s Bundesliga success convinced the Birmingham teen to instead make a £25m Dortmund move.
The 17-year-old star has decided to take the path unfamiliar to most English players by deciding to broaden his football experience in a high-pressure environment of Germany football after he signed with Dortmund today.
Manchester United tried everything possible to persuade him to join them, including a club tour with his parents and the great Sir Alex Ferguson but that didn’t play out well.
The youngster is eager to play alongside Jadon Sancho who has also been on Manchester United’s radar due to his season long form after he got 20 goals, and 20 assists this season.
Signing Jude Bellingham has made Dortmund more reluctant to selling Jadon Sancho as they believe pairing the two English men and other youngsters in the club will improve their chances of competing for both the Bundesliga and the Champions League trophies.
Jude Bellingham signed with Borussia Dortmund from Birmingham for an initial fee of £25m
Achieving Champions League qualification for Manchester United will go a long way in convincing the former Man City player to join the Red Devils. This comes after losing to Chelsea 3-1 in the FA Cup semi-final which exposes the faults Man United still has in its ranks despite the recent form.
Sancho is currently valued at 120 million pounds, a fee that Ed Woodward, Manchester United’s chief is reluctant to pay and instead plans to offer 80 million pounds to get the 20-year-old signed.
Sancho may have to play a part in making this transfer happen as Dortmund is not ready to hear any offer for the player below 100 million pounds from any club at the moment.
A meeting has been scheduled to take place between the two clubs after the Premier League season ends to decide Jadon Sancho’s future.
