Eden Hazard New Contract Talks Stall

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard who has had a hand many of the silverware that they have won in recent past seems to have rejected a new contract that was offered to him.

Hazard has not been at the top of his game so far this season, but the Belgian still manages to fire up Chelsea and keep them in the title race.

Many Chelsea fans will not be able happy to hear that their star player is holding out on signing a new contract and will be hoping that he signs a new deal as soon as possible.

The Belgian has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu for some time and has professed his admiration in the past for Zinedine Zidane, saying last month that it would be a dream come true to play for the Real Madrid boss.

Reports earlier this month suggested that the 26-year-old was stalling on signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge and Thierry Hazard claims his son has rejected the chance to extend his contract, which runs until 2020, as speculation persists over a potential transfer to the European champions.

“What I can reveal about Eden is that he refused a contract extension,” Thierry Hazard told Le Soir.

Chelsea fans will be hoping that the Belgian pens down a new deal.

“This was so that, if necessary, he could follow the interest of Real, whom he could see himself playing for.

“But, as of right now, there is no contact from Real Madrid. Eden is only one of the parties involved in his future.”

So as it stands, Eden Hazard is still much of a Chelsea player and will continue to step out for the Blues until maybe Madrid comes calling.

For Eden, hope of playing for Madrid could be coming up as many of the players at the Bernabeau seem to be seeing the evening of their careers and fans demanding a change in the guard.
