Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has had quite a great turn of fortune under the management of Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal management together with Arteta have shown interest in keeping the Spaniard.
However, Ceballos is believed to be interested in a move to return to La Liga with his preferred destination being Real Betis who finished the La Liga campaign as 15th. Wouldn’t be any different from where Arsenal finished their campaign really.
Arteta has been full of praise for his fellow country and outwardly spoke about how he would love to keep hold of the box to box midfielder as he looks to reinforce his team in the summer.
“I love how much he likes to play football, the passion he puts into every training session and game. His celebrations, whether he’s on the pitch or on the bench, he puts his life into it. He’s evolving the right way and has become a really important player for us.” Said Mikel
“We are talking to the club – obviously we don’t own the player, it’s not in our hands. The clubs need to have communication and see what we can do.”
Spanish Champions Real Madrid has already alerted to Dani Ceballos that they would prefer he found himself another club that he can play for next season on load or if possible a permanent transfer.
Arsenal are Still in the Lead to Resign Ceballos Despite His Desire to go back to Real Betis
Arsenal has already according to reports reached out to Real Madrid inquiring about the possibility of retaining the midfielder at the Emirates stadium for yet another season but the Spanish giants have asked the midfielder to decide where he wants to play next season.
It is believed that Arsenal are the club that is in pole position to retain the Spanish midfielder and it is a question of the player making a decision regarding his future.
Ceballos left Betis to join Real Madrid for £16million in 2017 but has struggled for playing time at the Bernabeu. It is believed Betis would have to sell several high earners, including William Carvalho, to facilitate a Ceballos return. The player currently earns €3m-a-year and Real Madrid would demand a €4m loan fee on top of that which Betis might not be able to afford if they kept hold of their key players.
For Arsenal and Arteta, the prayer now is that Ceballos is convinced to stay at the Emirates stadium for another year as they continue with project rebuild and push for a return to the Champions League.
