As we go into the third game week of Premier League football, Manchester United will travel to the American Express stadium as they meet Brighton and Hove Albion for their second game of the season after missing out on the first week of the season.
While still facing difficulties in the transfer market, the Man United’s Ole Gunnar said the team is ready to challenge for the Premier League trophy. Ole’s men are hoping to recover from a disappointing display against Crystal Palace at the Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were outclassed by the former Man Utd winger Wilfred Zaha and Roy Hodgson’s men in a 3-1 defeat. This show emphasized the need for more reinforcements in the club after their weakness was exposed.
Meanwhile, Brighton FC welcomes the visitors hoping to replicate their form today on the back of a 3-0 win over Newcastle FC last weekend. The Seagulls had earlier started the season on a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea before a string of better results both in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
They have been rather active in the transfer market business as compared to their Red counterparts which have worked in their favour especially the explosive and quick right back Tariq Lamptey who was signed from Chelsea this season.
Expected Line Ups for the Brighton Vs Manchester United game
Ole Gunnar’s men will have a similar setup to what we saw in the first game of the season with the same players. He will hope to slot in a midfield that has Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Matic, Fred and others.
There’s hope to see the English skipper Dean Henderson, who was magnificent in the 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over the weekend. He will compete with David DeGea who has dropped form in recent seasons.
The predicted line up is David DeGea, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, A. WanBissaka, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood. They will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
The Seagulls are expected to maintain the same line-up that beat Newcastle with Neal Maupay and Trossard leading the lines. They are still unable to call on the services of Christian Walton, Jose Izquierdo, and Florin Andone. All who are still recovering from injuries they had last season. Yves Bissouma suspended because of a red card incident.
The probable line up is Matt Ryan, Ben White, Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Tariq Lamptey, Adam Lallana, Steven Alzate, Solly March, Jayson Molumby, Nael Muapay, and Leonardo Trossard.
The last time these two teams met at the American Express Stadium, Manchester United were the victors over Brighton FC in a 3-0 win. This may prove to be a hard test for United which has won just once in their last four matches at this stadium.
Prediction: Brighton 1-2 Manchester United.
