Infinix is thinking beyond the stars with its rumoured underwater charging smartphone that will be 6mm thick, making it one of the slimmest phones to enter the market ever. If the reports are true, it could be even thinner than what’s currently on the market beating even Apple’s 7.80 mm iPhone 16.
In the leaked video, a phone is seen submerged in water while charging before it is unexpectedly cut off after someone appears in the room, showcasing the impressive underwater charging feature, but that’s not all there is to it. Aside from being super slim, Infinix plans to take things to the next by including a large battery, a powerful chipset, a triple-camera system, and advanced cooling.
How Infinix is going to include all those impressive features by fitting them within a 6mm body chassis is our biggest question at the moment, as the chances of doing that without losing performance or giving up on something else is going to be a tough challenge.
Leaked images of the handset also suggest it may be equipped with a 3D curved display, similar to other flagship smartphones in the market. The left spine of the purported Infinix handset shows the lack of buttons, suggesting that the power and volume buttons may be placed on its right spine instead.
Other reports also suggest that the mysterious Infinix smartphone design was inspired by the Infinix Hot 50 5G, which recently debuted in India. However, more details about the smartphone’s other specifications are still unknown.
Having an underwater charging feature would be great, especially for those who wish to use their phones in harsh environments or spend their time doing work that involves underwater explorations and much more.

The leaked photos that appeared online recently also suggest that aside from having a similar design to that of the HOT 50 5G, which was launched a while back in India having a remarkably thin 7.8mm profile, with a tri-camera array, a large 5000mAh battery, and an IP54-rated design. This is proof that Infinix could have the ability to create something even thinner and sleeker.
If the reports turn out to be true, then it’s going to be a big deal for the smartphone market as it will push other manufacturers to take more giant leaps in bringing more innovative designs to the market while maintaining the essential features.
