10. Boxer

Originally from Germany, this breed isn’t known for being aggressive by nature and it’s a fun breed to have around. The Boxer makes our list of dangerous dogs due to 48 incidents involving it from 1982- 2013 that left a number of victims in its wake. It’s a playful, bright and energetic dog that can grow from 50 to 70 lbs., and is known for its ‘headstrong’ characteristic.

As the name suggests, this breed is a mixture between dog and wolf and hence its name “Wolf Hybrid”. Due to their mixture of genetic traits, they possess wolf and dog behaviour which makes them very unpredictable and deadly.

8. Chow Chow

Don’t let the name fool you, this breed requires a lot of attention from its owner to prevent it from getting aggressive. Originally from China, the 50 to 70 lbs. Chow Chow can also be referred to as Songshi Quan or ‘puffy-lion dog.’

This dog has discernment skills against strangers and can be fiercely protective of its owner. They’re considered high-risk dogs and may require insurance due to 238 fatalities from dog bites from 1979 to 1998.

7. Doberman Pinschers

Practically known for being the best guard dog, very alert, loyal and intelligent. They only attack once they sense danger. These German breeds were developed in 1890 by Karl Friedrich Louis Doberman and can weigh as much as 65 to 90 lbs. Their aggressive behaviour, size and strength make them potentially dangerous if not carefully handled.

These sledge-pulling dogs of the Northern regions are known for being fast, strong and adventure trekkers. However, they’re destructive when bored and dangerous due to their strong predator-hunting instincts.

This dog breed is related to the Siberian Husky and requires daily exercise to keep it busy and happy or they will become bored, disobedient and destructive. The Alaskan Malamutes are large breeds of domestic dogs which can grow from 70 to 100 lbs and are the perfect companions for pursuits like carting.
