Picture this: it’s Friday afternoon, you just wrapped up your workday and you’re heading out for a happy hour with friends to start the weekend off right. After a weekend spent relaxing and recharging, Monday rolls back around and you’re just not ready. Those Monday blues hit and it’s hard to stay motivated and productive after the weekend—we’ve all been there.
With a little bit of planning, preparation and a positive mindset, Mondays don’t have to be so bad. Ready to stop living for the weekend and start enjoying the weekdays? Here are a few tips to help you beat those Monday blues so you can make Monday your favourite day of the week.
1. Make a Monday Playlist
What better way to start the day than with a playlist to pick you up. Make a playlist to get you pumped before work and a playlist to help keep you going during the day. Where you like upbeat tunes or calm jazz, music can help you stay focused and energized on a Monday.
2. Move Your Body
While you’ve got your playlist going, why not keep the energy up with a morning workout. Starting your week off with some gentle movement like yoga, stretching or walking can help you ease into the week so you’re feeling stress-free. If it’s hard for you to get up to work out on Mondays, set out your workout leggings, shoes and water bottle the night before so all you have to do is wake up, get dressed and move.
3. Stay Organized With a To-Do List
To-do lists are one of the best ways to keep yourself organized throughout the day—something we all need going into a new week. Start your day by making a list of all of the things you need to get done and make sure to check them off as you go. Physically checking off your to-dos will help you feel accomplished and can increase your productivity for the rest of the week.
