Samsung has finally revealed a final launch date for its upcoming Galaxy S21 phone after months of endless leaks and teasers about their new flagship devices.
The Korean tech giant recently confirmed an official launch date for the Galaxy S21 and it seems users are going to be getting their hands on much sooner than we had hoped. Samsung’s latest flagship line will debut on January 14, 2021, cancelling out initial rumours of an earlier release date.
The flagship Galaxy S line usually makes its debut between the months of February and April but Samsung has recently made it a habit to launch its topline brand a week ahead of MWC and the 2021 edition will be a departure from this norm. according to Andriod Authority.
Though a launch date has been narrowed down, there’s still a lot of information lacking about the Galaxy 21 and of course, leaks continue to pop up left and right about what the new flagship series could bring to the table come Jan. 14, 2021.
It is also expected that Samsung will launch the usual three models of the Galaxy S series with the offer including the vanilla S21, the S21 Plus, and the S21 Ultra variants. The latter is said to be more interesting as it could include S Pen support and Samsung’s second-gen 108MP camera sensor.
For those who are not interested in spending a lot on the high-end variants, the Galaxy S21 Plus could be the more sensible upgrade path for those still using Galaxy S10 or Note 10 devices.
Samsung Galaxy S21 is coming way sooner than most thought
Samsung has already kicked off its pre-registration program in the US, offering a number of credit bonuses. The final date for users to get their registrations in is January 28, 2021, suggesting the phones will be available in late January/early February for general consumers.
It also believed that the Galaxy S21 models will be shipping with a new powerful and more efficient Snapdragon 888 chip combined with lower display resolutions and new LTPO display technology that should improve battery life.
There is also the addition of dual telephoto cameras, laser autofocus and S Pen support which are expected to be added in the Galaxy S21 Ultra making it a killer rival to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apart from that, a new design and a lower price tag are among the unconfirmed reports about the new S line.
Reports also state that the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus will both use flat display panels, with the S21 Ultra maintaining a curved screen on the right and left edges for ergonomic reasons since it uses a larger display than the other two versions.
Nevertheless, all will be revealed and confirmed at Samsung’s Unpacked event on January 14, 2021, beginning at 10 AM ET (3 PM GMT, 8:30 PM IST).
