Highway Sniper released their newest EP, The Great Satan, available on streaming platforms on July 27, 2022, via Smartpunk Records. Previously released singles, “Cycles of Pain,” and “Busy Signal At The Embassy” are two out of six tracks featured in The Great Satan.
On this EP, Highway Sniper shares insight into their own political viewpoints. Over the six tracks, the band explores their opinions on American foreign policy, US military action, and more. Highway Sniper describes the EP by saying:
“I think any student of history, whether they think Highway Sniper is sensationalist garbage or compelling political music, can agree that the things discussed on this record are invaluable to understanding our current geopolitical situation.”– Highway Sniper
Highway Sniper is the brainchild of George Lucarelli, a bizarre individual from the Cleveland area who has a particular talent for writing and recording songs from many different corners of the aggressive music spectrum. Since the earliest Highway Sniper material was reminiscent of stadium crust acts such as Tragedy or From Ashes Rise, vocalist/lyricist Skylar Sarkis employed lyrics that were both politically charged and nihilistic.
