10 Most Dangerous Dog Breeds in The World That You Should Keep an Eye On
Originally from Germany, this breed isn’t known for being aggressive by nature and it’s a fun breed to have around. The Boxer makes our list of dangerous dogs due to 48 incidents involving it from 1982- 2013 that left a number of victims in its wake. It’s a playful, bright and energetic dog that can grow from 50 to 70 lbs., and are known for their ‘headstrong’ characteristic.
9. Wolf Hybrid
As the name suggests, this breed is a mixture between dog and wolf and hence its name “Wolf Hybrid. Due to their mixture in genetic traits, they possess wolf and dog behavior which makes them very unpredictable and deadly.
8. Chow Chow
Don’t let the name fool you, this breed requires a lot of attention from its owner to prevent it from getting aggressive. Originally from China, the 50 to 70 lbs. Chow Chow can also be referred as Songshi Quan or ‘puffy-lion dog.’ This dog has discernment skills against strangers and can be fiercely protective of its owner. They’re considered as high-risks dogs and may require insurance due to 238 fatalities from dog bites from 1979 to 1998.
7. Doberman Pinschers
Practically known for being the best guard dog, very alert, loyal and intelligent. They only attack once they sense danger. These German breeds were developed in 1890 by Karl Friedrich Louis Doberman and can weigh as much as 65 to 90 lbs. Their aggressive behavior, size and strength make them potentially dangerous if not carefully handled.
These sled pulling dogs of the Northern regions are known for being fast, strong and adventure trekkers. However, they’re destructive when bored and dangerous due to their strong predator hunting instincts.
5. Alaskan Malamutes
This dog breed is related to the Siberian Husky and requires daily exercises to keep it busy and happy or they will become bored, disobedient and destructive. The Alaskan Malamutes are large breeds of domestic dogs which can grow from 70 to 100 lbs and are perfect companion for pursuits like carting. Since they are known for their strong independence, they can be difficult to train, cope poorly with smaller animals, and are unreliable as watchdogs.
Rottweilers are a powerful breed with well-developed genetic herding and guarding instincts. They’re potentially dangerous once they aren’t catered for. These breeds possess great strength which makes them very dangerous once they attack and this can’t be overlooked.
3. German Shepherd
Commonly seen around law enforcement agencies, these breed of dogs originated from Germany and can weigh as much as 70 to 100 lbs. They’re intelligent, confident, alert, vigilant, and fearless. The police also uses them for their K-9 units. However, caution must be exercised with Shepherds as they can become overprotective of their family and territory, and if not socialized correctly it can lead to attacks.

The term ‘pit bull’ encompasses certain breeds of dog from the American Pit Bull Terrier, the Staffordshire bull terrier, the American Staffordshire terrier, and the American Bulldog.

The Caucasian Ovcharka also known as the Caucasian Shepherd, was bred to protect livestock. The typical Caucasian Ovcharka is assertive, strong-willed and courageous. However, unless properly socialized and trained, it may exhibit ferocious and unmanageable tendencies since it does not accept people it does not know and has a powerful urge to defend.
