Japan’s Godzilla, the new 2020 Nissan Nismo R35-generation GT-R has marked an important milestone when it comes to being faster, and also the best Nismo developed so far.
After more than a decade in production, the Japanese have maintained a strong tradition towards making the Nissan GT-R an optimum of excellence and craftsmanship. Its also very evident that the Japanese carmaker intends to make the current Nissan R35 better with each passing year.
The 2020 Nismo GT-R is the latest and greatest, and according to Nissan, it’s 2.5 seconds faster around its development track than the 2019 model. The secret behind the $210,000 (UGX 774,620,910) Nismo GT-R lies within its design and production specs.
According to Motor Authority, the new 600-horsepower Nismo GT-R comes at the top as the fastest Godzilla produced to date due to a number of factors with one of them being weight reduction.
The 2020 Nismo GT-R is the fastest Godzilla ever!
Weight is key: Compared to the 2019 model, the 2020 Nismo lost nearly 50 pounds with most of the savings due to the carbon fiber body which is utilized extensively in the car’s exterior. The only panels which aren’t carbon fiber are the rear fenders and the doors.
Engine power and responsiveness: Nissan went to great lengths to improve the engine’s responsiveness which was accomplished by taking turbochargers from Nissan’s GT-R race car and putting them into the R35.
The turbochargers incorporate lighter turbine wheels which reduce turbo lag since they spin up more quickly. Nissan says this improvement translates to a half-car-length advantage over 5 seconds when flooring the 2020 GT-R from a 55 mph roll.
Apart from that, the latest Godzilla is better due to its tires and aerodynamics, which play an important role in making the beast faster and more agile than before. There’s now 11-percent more rubber in contact with the road, and this results in a 7-percent improvement in grip.
The 2020 Nismo GT-R is significantly quicker than the 2019 model. Nissan has yet again proven its capability to produce faster and stylish GT cars, which has attributed to his long-standing tradition and fame tied around the GT-R models.
