The All Stars Africa -French Legends match due on 22nd March Postponed

The African Stars match against Uganda Cranes legends Powered by French Embassy in Uganda ,has been Painfully Postponed.This decision has been taken in the spirit of Protecting humanity and in the Midst of the World wide Spread of Corona Virus-Covid 19 Pademic. Though no Single Case been Confirmed or reported in Uganda ,This decision has been taken as a precaution .

You may be aware that Most major Sports activities, Conferences & gatherings across the Global have been put on hold for the same reasons.

Quite Much has been invested in the Activities by the French Embassy ,MTN UGANDA, Guiness,Next Media Group ,Balaam Marketing, UTB & Radio4 but Preservation of Life Precedes all else .

“In the Same Spirit ,We wish to inform the Public that the Johnnie walker Sponsored Live Concert due on 28th March 2020 at Sheraton featuring the World’s best French Live Band Kassav and Vegedream has also been Postponed.” Said Balam

French Ambassador Confirms Postponement of All Star Africa Match because of Coronavirus

Samuel Eto’o won a load of trophies playing for Barcelona and the Africa cup of Nations with Cameroon.

“We’ve been working for a long time to organise the UGFrenchshipWeek and we are proud of this. Many partners are still coming on board to be a part of this initiative. However, we have been in discussion with Gov’t and stakeholders” Said French Ambassador to Uganda Jules-Armand Aniambossou

“I met the Minister of Health Dr. Ruth Acheng and we discussed many things. We visited the places where we plan to hold our events and we did a risk assessment in regards to Coronavirus” He continued.

“We were told that if we abided by certain principles and guidelines we could go ahead with the Uganda French friendship week. However in the interest of responsibility we have decided to postpone all the events.” Ambassador Jules-Armand

And according to Mr. William Blick the chairman of the Uganda Olympics Committee, “Uganda has not registered any Corona Virus cases but we don’t want to take this for granted. In solidarity with the rest of the world, we have decided to put off all activities of the Uganda-Frenchship week

“It is a tough decision but we have had to postpone the Uganda-Frenchship week for the good of everyone. As a sign of continuity, this week we shall hand over a court that was constructed from last year’s proceeds.”

Another date for the Match and Live Band performances will be communicated in due course.

The match was going to pit some of the greatest African football legends that have graced the game of football around the world and left the mark. The likes of Samuel Eto’o, Didier Drogba who were magnificent for Chelsea, Kanu who won the English Premier league with Arsenal, Lomana LuaLual the celebration king.

The chosen African legends were to play against the finest legends to have ever donned the Uganda Cranes jersey at Namboole stadium. According to the organizers, this will still happen depending on how the world contains the coronavirus which has claimed many lives across the world.
