NBA and New York Knicks Legend Patrick Ewing Tests Positive for COVID19

The NBA and New York Legends Patrick Ewing has announced that he has tested positive for the Coronavirus which has taken the world by storm.

In his tweet, Patrick says  “This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones.”
The NBA superstar is currently a coach of the Georgetown Men’s basketball team. This is where the Hall of famer hails from and has been coaching the team.

Patrick, who won an NCAA championship in 1984 as a Georgetown player, said he wanted to thank health care workers and everyone on the front lines of the pandemic.
“I’ll be fine and we will all get through this,” he said.
The university said Ewing is isolated at a hospital. He is the only person in the program to have tested positive for the virus, Georgetown said.

As a player, Ewing helped Georgetown win the 1984 NCAA championship and reach two other title games. He was taken by New York with the No 1 overall pick in the 1985 NBA draft, and played for the franchise for 15 seasons, making 11 all-star appearances.
Ewing, who also won Olympic gold medals with the US team in 1988 and 1992, shared the news was not short on thanking the medical perople who are at the frontline of fighting the Coronavirus pandemich
“Now more than ever, I want to thank the healthcare workers and everyone on the front lines,” Ewing said.
