The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has come out to declare Sports Club Vipers as the winners of the 2019/2020 season after they applied the 75% rule.
This decision doesn’t come as a surprise to many followers since the country currently under lockdown and the President of Uganda, his excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni recently stated that sports activities are still on hold until the situation with coronavirus is sorted out.
In his address to the press, President of FUFA, Moses Magogo states that a rule of 75% of the games having been played was applied on the league and it determined that Vipers were the eventual winners.

The decision subsequently also means that teams like Tooro United, Proline and Maroons FC will be relegated to the Big League while Myda FC and UPDF FC will be promoted to the Uganda Premier League with Kiboga Young, Kataka FC, Kitara FC and Ndejje Unive FC set to play-offs before the start of next season to determine who gets to join Myda and UPDF as the other 3 promoted teams in the league.
Mr. Magogo says that they are still looking at various options on how best to conclude the Stanbic Uganda Cup to determine the winners. Remember that the winner of the Uganda Cup will get to represent the nation at CAF Confederations Cup.
The Uganda Women’s Super League has been cancelled with no eventual winner or team relegated after the application of the 50% ruling that found that teams hadn’t played the required number of games that would give the federation enough room to declare the winners.
