Manchester United punish sluggish Chelsea in English Premier League Encounter
Manchester United got the better of their counterparts Chelsea FC in the biggest game of the English Premier League encounter this weekend at Oldtraford.
Manchester bring Chelsea crumpling when they faced off at Oldtrafford in English Premier League.
For Jose Mourinho this was not any ordinary day business, this an opportunity to make mends of the 3-0 loss that they suffered at the hands of Chelsea in the first half of the season.
Antonio Conte’s men came into this tie knowing that Spurs had cut down on their lead from 7 points to 4 points and needed a win to stretch their lead back to seven.

Mourinho well knowing that Chelsea has a power house in the attacking department, he knew that he had to come up with some kind of plan to tame them.
United played a defensive strategy one that involved disciplined marking. Eden Hazard was properly man-marked by Ander Herreira who made sure that the Belgian had no room to operate.
The game had few chances to talk about but it was Marcus Rashford who had the first real opportunity after he picked the ball from Lingard who had out battled David Luiz.
Rashford later scored for the hosts after a beautiful through pass from Herreira who stole the ball from Matic and punished the casual defending of Luiz.
With little going forward for Chelsea, the game was played in the midfield but it was the brilliant man-marking that United displayed that didn’t give table leaders room to create chances and force De Gea to make any saves.
In the second half, Chelsea came out a little more aggressive but still United players played their cards right and made sure that Hazard and Pedro were neutralized to limit the chances created for Diego Costa.
Herreira again punished the lackluster defending of Chelsea to give United a two goal lead.
With Chelsea dropping 3 points at Oldtraford, the race to English Premier League seems to have been opened up for Totenham Hotspurs FC.
The win however, gives United a 6 point advantage over their arch-rivals Arsenal as they battle for UEFA Champions League slots.
