Samsung Galaxy A9 Specs Leaked; Release Date in Early 2016
In a report by Android Community, specifications of SM-A9000, better projected to be released as the Samsung Galaxy A9, were leaked through bench-marking site GeekBench.
Android Community relays that the Galaxy A9 will feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 SoC. If this proves true, Android Community says that the Galaxy A9 will be the first device sporting Qualcomm’s new midrange SoC.
The website describes Snapdragon 620 as follows:
“The SD620 is of an octa-core design, with four Cortex-A53 CPU cores, four Cortex-A72 CPU cores, and supported by the Adreno 510 GPU.”
Sam Mobile further reports that the Samsung Galaxy A9 will have a 16-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Ecumenical News cites Samsung’s Iran website which recently showed an official listing. The website notes the lasting showed a photo of the A8; however, the text in it indicated that the A9 may be released in the country (Iran) on December 9.
In terms of the Galaxy A9’s release actual release date, Ecumenical News has this to say:
“It is likely that Samsung will be rolling out the Galaxy A9 along with other lower priced devices in the next month or so as a number of leaks have been emerging about them. These leaks also point toward the arrival of the Galaxy A7 (2016).”
However, unless an official statement is released by Samsung, future releases of rumored devices should be treated as pure speculation for now.
